On my first venture to the Valley of Fire State Park I aimed to get there by sunrise. I almost made it! I did have lovely early morning light to photograph the amazing rock formations. I drove around, getting my bearings, and found many lovely spots to stop. Arch Rock is in a number of these photos, and the incredible multi-arched alcove I clambered around in was just a little ways farther along that loop of road.
I hiked to the Wave, but was not sure if I had found it -- it is an amazing rock formation surrounded by many other amazing rock formations.
I hope you enjoy these photos. If you have been there, I hope the capture some of the beauty you witnessed. If you have not been there, I hope they inspire you to go. i will certainly go back again!
