On my last day in Nevada, after my veterinary conference was over, I took my Mustang on a joy ride. I sought out remote Nelson, NV and its neighboring ghost town. This is a little bit or a tourist trap, but had all sorts of interesting things to photogrpah. I had fun working out a processing technique to give them an 'old' look - how do you like it?
Next I drove a wide loop, picking up Rt. 66 in Needles, CA. I drove through Oatman, AZ with its donkeys wandering the streets; looped and zoomed throuth the high desert to Cool Springs; rolled off the hills on to the plain leading to Kingman, AZ where I had a milkshare in an iconic diner. From there I had to head back to Las Vegas via the Hoover Dam and its new bridge spanning the gorge. Someday I want to do Rt. 66 from end to end, at my leisure!
